The 526th TFS was assigned to the 26th TRW at Ramstein when it received its first Phantoms in 1969. In January 1973, the 26th TRW moved to Zweibrücken, but the 526th stayed at Ramstein and joined the incoming 86th TFW. This is a very early 526th TFS F-4E photo. The aircraft was later converted to F-4G.

This photo was taken in the second half of 1972, when this Phantom had just transferred from the 13th TFS / 432nd TRW at Udorn to the 523rd TFS at Clark AB in the Philippines. The aicraft carries the MiG-kill marking that it had gained with its previous unit by shooting down a MiG-21 over North Vietnam on 16 April 1972. This aircraft is preserved at Warren County airport, Kentucky, USA.

Rare picture of a LK coded F-4D. The 48th TFW only carried the LK tailcode for a few months in 1972 because in July and August of that year, the LK tailcode was replaced by LN.

In 1969, the 67th TRW was based at Mountain Home AFB. One of its squadrons was 22nd TRS wearing the KS tailcode. The other recce squadrons were 7th TRS (KT) and 10th TRS (KR). When the wing, in July 1971, moved to Bergstrom AFB all three units were deactivated. This RF-4C was delivered to South Korea in January 1990.
