This airframe is one of six L-100-30 sold to the Indonesian Government in the early 1980's. It flew with Pelita as PK-PLT and later as PK-MLT with Merpati. In 1990 is was modified with eleven B727 windows visible on both sides of the fuselage. Sold to the TNI-AU in late 1995. Although built as a civilian L-100-30 - without the lower cockpit windows - it later received the typical C-130 front section containing 23 cockpit windows.

Seen here on a pre-delivery testflight after being shipped from the US (where it has been manufactured) is the first AW139 for Thai operator Si-Chang Flying Service (SFS). The helicopter's paint scheme represents the national colors of Germany, where SFS Aviation Chairman Chira Ratanarat and his father were educated. The paint is a tribute to Germany and the country's approach to high quality and precision.

It then soldiered on in Sweden as SE-JFD, later in Finnland as OH-HMC before heading to Israel around 2006. Lahak Aviation operated at least three BO105's on behalf of Israel's Magen David Adom ambulance service. The 105's have since been replaced by BK117's.

This aircraft's previous serial was 77-8392 and is one of 17 F-4EJ Phantom II the JASDF had modified to the RF-4EJ Kai reconnaissance version in the 1990's. It lacks the typical recce nose (accomodating internal cameras) of regular RF-4's and was therefore only able to carry external recce pods, which became the standard of the day anyway at that time. With the change of it's role, the aircraft's serial became 77-6392.
