The T-3A Firefly was part of the USAF's Air Education and Training Command to screen pilot candidates by exposing them to military style traffic patterns, aerobatics and spins. This 94-0019 was scrapped by Total Metal Recycling Inc, Granite City (IL) by September 2006. It is seen here at the static of Edwards, on loan from the 3rd Flying Training Squadron at Randolph (TX) to the 412th Test Wing. It carried 'experimental'-titles for the aircraft types fuel flow problems research. The USAF eventually disposed the 106-strong Firefly fleet by 2006.

The F-16XL is a derivative of the F-16 Fighting Falcon with beautiful cranked-arrow delta wing. The type entered the USAF Enhanced Tactical Fighter (ETF) competition in 1981 but it sadly lost to the F-15E Strike Eagle. Both prototypes were shelved until being turned over to NASA for additional aeronautical research in 1988. The duo was eventually fully retired in 2009 and stored at Edwards AFB (CA).

The 358th FS was inactivated at homebase Davis Monthan AFB (AZ) on 21 February 2014 as part of the USAF's Total Force Integration policy. The squadron's aircraft were assumed by the AFRC 47th Fighter Squadron, which had inactivated in late 2013 at Barksdale AFB (LA), and relocated to Davis-Monthan in order to be reactivated as an AFRC A-10 Formal Training Unit once again, beginning in March 2014. This serial 80-0215 (here seen returning from a display over Edwards and marked "355 Wing") was retired on 17 April 2023 to AMARG.

First flight 1966, this Learjet was a true oldy! It is former an ASSESS airborne telescope aircraft. and served this laboratory from 1973 onwards. The 24A was then delivered NASA Ames (N702NA) where it was registered on 10 Jun'74. It was moved to Dryden on 9 Feb'98 as N805NA. The jet was sadly lost in an accident on 7 Jun'01 during a hard landing at Victorville (CA). The 24A was under control of the co-pilot who disengaged the yaw damper and entered a pilot induced lateral oscillation. The airplane rapidly decelerated and developed a high sink rate. It bounced several times and came to rest.

Delivered to the USAF on 15 February 1986, it served the 412th Test Wing up to October 2003 before it was transferred to the 40th FLTS at Eglin AFB (FL). It was then delivered to RAF Lakenheath where it was assigned to the 493rd FS. Following the retirement of F-15C/Ds at the UK base, the Eagle was then assigned to the 114th FS with the Oregon ANG. The F-15D the experienced an in flight emergency followed by a runway excursion after landing at Kingsley Field (OR). It came to a stop in an irrigation canal at the south side of the runway and is most probably written off. The sole pilot: ok!

This Huey was newly produced for the Elliniki Aeroporia Stratou (EAS, Hellenic Army Aviation). Its FMS serial was 69-15876, and it was first assigned to 2 TEAS (2nd Army Aviation Group). Unfortunately, the life of this Huey came premature to an end when it crashed on 20 February 2006. It was lost last during a night training exercise when operating with night goggles. The cause of the crash remains unknown. The Huey came down near the village of Kariotissa, some 20 km north of Alexandria very close to the National road connecting Thessaloniki and Edessa.
