A pleasure to see this bird in the rivets again after 14 years, and looking fabulous too! Visiting from her current home in Florida. Built in 1958, first as N5651D, then to N534H, N538H, N96HA, becoming N9669N in October 1986. With information from, and in memory of the late Geoff Goodall.

This Beech 18 is one of the 31 aircraft on display all around the Lackland parade field. It is incorrectly painted as USAF 42-9637 (which was a P-39N), but it never served with the USAF. The serial is correct for this aircraft, but it's a US Navy bureau number, not a USAF tail number. This aircraft is in fact the USN BuNo 29637, first delivered as such as an SNB-2C in Oct 1944. Converted to SNB-3 in Jan 1949, then to SNB-5 in Dec 1951. Redesignated to TC-45J in Sep 1962 and to UC-45J in Oct 1964. In Feb 1967 it went to the US Army, where it served with that same serial 29637. At the time of the photo the Beech was receiving some TLC, hence the stepladder behind.

Ferried from Oakland, CA, to Cairns in 1975 as N5645K and registered VH-PDI in 1976, flying with Helitrans Australia, Sunbird Airlines, Eagle Airways, Airtransit/Air Kangaroo Island and a number of private owners.

Built as an SNJ-1 for the USN, BuNo 39796 and redesignated TC-45J in 1962. Sold as N72405 and underwent the major conversion to single-tail nosewheel PacAero Tradewind. Substantially damaged in 1969 when the gear collapsed while taxiing at Denver-Stapleton. To N156AB in 1981, N240MM in 1986 and N250RM in 1989. Exported to Haiti in 2010

Arriving at the 2023 edition of AeroExpo held at Sywell Aerodrome. She was later parked as an exhibit.

Formerly with the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum, Midland, TX

Built 1941 and allocated to the Bombadier Training School, Midland, TX in 1942, later transferred to 4122 AAFBU. Crashed at Hensley Field, TX in December 1946, repaired and based at Hill AFB, UT. Sold as N6953U in 1957 and converted for civil use in 1960 by the removal of gun turret and bomb-bay doors. Joined the Pima museum as early as 1975
