The second of two Bristol Freighters acquired by SAFE Air - Straits Air Freight Express in 1951 for its cargo flights across the Cook Strait under contract from New Zealand Government Railways. Sheep from the South Island were a common cargo. The location here might be Gore (NZGC). ZK-AYH crashed at a golf course in Christchurch in 1957 and the accident was attributed to a structural failure in a bolt hole in the wing front spar. Photo from: Aerospace Bristol
