In an unusual modification from the late 1980s, it has been given both an oblong window and a porthole window aft of the fuselage door. The porthole widow was later removed. Delivered new to the US Army in 1957 as 56-0388. Its military career included service in the Belgian Congo with the United Nations Air Wing No. 3 Squadron. From 2006 operated out of Fairbanks as Marina Air. In 2016 reregistered as N11YA to Heather J. Fox of Bettles, Alaska.

Apparently in less than pristine condition, but the aircraft flew from the adjacent Strip a day or two later. Still in the basic colours of previous Canadian owner Direquair with elements of the titles remaining visible. First flew as CF-JZW in 1957. Became N999R in 1958. Returned to Canada from North Africa as CF-ZVQ in 1971. Joined Direquair Inc, of Chibougamau, Quebec in 1975. Ferried to Alaska as N5359J in 1984. Reregistered as N900L with Newhalen Lodge, Anchorage, in October 1997.

LN-BRL preparing for departure on a very wet July afternoon. Note how the integrated air stairs are being folded into the storage space under the door. This feature made the 737-200 an aircraft that did not require much in terms of ground equipment at outlying airports.
