W/O 25 Oct 1985 taking off from Foxfield Hilltop, Forkhill Army Base, N.I. Main rotor struck radio mast during night take-off. The two pilots escaped safely but the five troops in the back, who were not strapped in were injured, Air Load Master Sgt Dave Rigby (25) fatally. Became 8894M and was burnt at Aldergrove in 1995.

Carries Royal Air Force Air Support Command titles on the nose. Photographed taking off from the grass at Kidlington Airport, Oxford, during the RAFA Air Display held there on 2nd September 1967; note the 47 Sqn. Crane's head crest on the fin. The aircraft was coming towards the end of its service life at the time as it was scrapped at 27MU Shawbury in September 1969.
