Photographer: Al Rodriguez. K25 slide scan. Ordered by Capital but not taken up and delivered 1962 as N9107C to Braniff International. Traded to Boeing 1969 and converted to freighter as HR-TNL for TAN. Descended below glideslope while approaching Tegucigalpa 21 March 1990 and flew into high ground.

A regular visitor to Belize, I took this from the open viewing terrace - a thing of the past!

With a somewhat stubby wing, and large props, the Electra packed a lot of action into a small space when underway. This one was lost in a hard landing in Honduras in 1990.

A regular visitor of Miami's international airport, taxiing to the cargo ramp under the hot Florida sun. During the late 1980s TAN operated two Electras into Miami, HR-TNL and this one. TNL was lost when it crashed into a mountain in March 1990, but TNT soldiered on (later as HR-SHN of SAHSA). In April 1997 it was sold to Conair in Canada as C-FZCS and was converted to water bomber. By 2017 it still served in that role in Canada with Air Spray, fighting forest fires as Tanker 87.

Sold by Braniff to TAN in 8.69, ex N9710C. Converted to freighter with rear cargo door at Miami in 7.76. W/o at Tegucigalpa on 21.3.90, hitting hill on approach in poor weather
