N39165 was flown to Australia to mark the 50th anniversary of the original PH-AJU "Uiver" winning the handicap section of the MacRobertson Miller London-to-Melbourne air race. Air Race 44, Uiver did so while operating the regular KLM service to Batavia (now Jakarta) and despite a dramatic night landing on the racecourse at Albury aided by car headlights. N39165 is now part of the Aviodrome collection Lelystad Airport. This photo is copyright © David Carter, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
