Though painted in Kar-Air livery, this aircraft never flew with that carrier. However it did fly for many years in Scandinavia, having been delivered to SAS as SE-BSY in February 1958. After being sold in the mid-1970s it went on to fly in Botswana and South Africa before being acquired by Cochise Airlines in 1979. It last official identity was N8042W.
