Seen here in storage, but this Convair went on the following year to fly with DHL in Europe as OO-DHJ. It was however lost in a crash 0n 1 September 2008 as N587X with Air Tahoma. It was on a flight following a maintenance "C" Check and crashed in Pickaway County, Ohio, immediately after departure from Rickenbacker International Airport. The crew had declared an in-flight emergency and were attempting to return to the departure airport. All three occupants - the captain, first officer and a company pilot observer - were killed in the crash or post-crash fire.
