Built as VH-UOH in 1930 with open cockpits. Sold to Fiji Airways as VQ-FAC and operated as a floatplane. Sank May 22, 1933. Shipped to Sydney for rebuilding, finally reappearing in 1936 as VH-UUI with an enclosed cabin for two passengers and the pilot behind, DH Fox Moth style. By this time Genairco was out of business. -UUI remained on the register with a couple of breaks until 1966, Over the years the engine was swapped from a Cirrus Hermes to a Gipsy Major and a DH60 undercarriage fitted. It was sold in the US as N240G in May 1966. Now in storage at the Fantasy of Flight Museum, Florida. This photo was added on 9 January 2019, and has since been viewed 479 times. |
