Photographed from a Cessna 172, the Cabramurra airstrip ( bottom, right) was built as part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric project. At 5050 feet ASL, it is the highest airstrip in Australia. It was used regularly by DHC-2 Beavers during construction but today is for emergency use only. The town of Cabramurra is on the ridge behind.
