Delivered October 1957 as "Southern Aurora". Flew first Qantas round-the-world service eastbound (January 1958). Lost prop during emergency landing in Nevada August 1959 and sold to Lockheed two months later as N9722C. Leased back August 1960 as "Southern Prodigal". Purchased March 1961.
