The one and only ST-18 Croydon. The British 12-seater set off for a return flight to Australia on July 30, 1936 in the hope the publicity might attract orders. But it got the wrong publicity when on the return trip it force-landed on Seringapatam Reef in the Timor Sea on October 7 after navigation errors. Fishermen rescued the crew but the Croydon was abandoned to the elements. This photo was added on 25 February 2019, and has since been viewed 851 times. |
