Seen on finals to Runway 06, 'just missing' Jackson's brickworks chimney, this was the first Sabena Convair 240 to operate to Ringway, making the inaugural flight from Brussels this day. OO-AWO was delivered on January 27, 1949 and crashed at Zurich Kloten on December 19, 1953. This photo is copyright © R.A.Scholefield, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
