COD aircraft from USS Bennington arrives in the early morning to collect the US Consul-General to fly him to the aircraft carrier. The carrier later berthed in Sydney for the annual celebration of the Battle of the Coral Sea. 146039 was retired in 1983 after spending the final years of its service life shore-based in Japan.
