Just under three months after this photo was taken the aircraft was written off on 23 March, 1993, in a forced landing 175 miles from Addis Ababa. The following is an extract from ASN: The F-27 strayed off course and a precautionary landing had to be made due to fuel exhaustion. The aircraft collided with trees on rollout.
