The prototype of the Fokker F.25 Promotor, a four-seat air taxi first flown on 20 October 1946. Here it is seen with a stretched fuselage to reduce drag, but the lengthened propeller shaft caused a vibration problem. Although a batch of 20 airframes was largely completed, the type was a technical and commercial failure. The Dutch CAA was very critical of the design and of Fokker's attitude.
