Redmont was known as Camp 127 at the time of the photo. The camp supported the construction the Mt Newman railway and now its operation. The line carries iron ore to the coast at Port Hedland. 127 is the distance in miles from Port Hedland. The railway has the world's longest and heaviest trains, over 7km long and weighing almost 100,000 tonnes. Operated by Trans West Air Charter.
