D-4686 was built by Walter Schneider, first flight 19-Apr-1964. In 2004 it was handed over to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe. This was the second of the two D-36s built and differed from V-1 by having a parachute brake instead of spoilers. The D-36 was one of the first glassfiber sailplanes. V-1 won the German National Championships in 1964 and became second in the World Championships in 1965 This photo is copyright © Peter Vercruijsse, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
