'American Eagle plane at the Glendale assembly plant.' This may refer to the Kinner Airplane & Motor Corporation. With the Kinner K-5 radial engine the A-129, developed from the A-101 by Giuseppe Bellanca, was known as the 'long-nose Eagle'. The photo is dated 1928 or 1929. A-129 referred to the year 1929 but perhaps the type appeared earlier. Certainly NC523 visited Clover Field, Santa Monica on 26 March 1929.
