Since becoming an F3 operator, 43 Squadron's aircraft have always been allocated the "G*" tail code prefix. Thus, 43 Squadron's special markings have always been applied to the aircraft wearing the code "GF", the significance being the initials stand for the Squadron's motto - "Gloria Finis" - "Glory is the End".
