This Gulfstream II was modified to serve as a Shuttle Training Aircraft (STA). Its cockpit was designed to closely resemble the flight deck of the Space Shuttle and the aircraft could be used to simulate the flight characteristics of the Space Shuttle during re-entry and landing after an orbital mission. The aircraft joined the collections of the US Space & Rocket Center in 2017. This photo is copyright © Edward Kehler, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
