At the time one of the few, possibly only, aircraft in the RAF to carry an Air Commodore's name and pennant below the cockpit, that of Leuchars Station Commander and Air Officer Scotland, Air Commodore Gerry M Mayhew. He had the honour of being the last commanding officer at RAF Leuchars before the base was handed over to the Army in 2015.
