At the time this shot was taken, XXV(F) Squadron had disbanded and the Leuchars Wing had gained several jets from the last of the Leeming F3 Squadrons. This aircraft had particular significance to Leuchars and 43(F) Squadron, it being the first Tornado F3 to be officially delivered to the Fighting Cocks along with sistership ZE962 during the Leuchars Airshow on 23 September 1989.
