Built by Australian Army air corps personnel using parts salvaged from a scrapyard at Vung Tau, Vietnam in 1970. Plan was to use it as a glider tug at the army air corps base at Oakey, Queensland. Painted blue with white cheatline and test flown by a US Army pilot. Shipped back to Australia. Sent to the Army Aviation Museum as the Bird Dog was not at the time approved for civil use in Australia. Flown occasionally and repainted in the same olive drab as the army's Cessna 180s. Now an exhibit at the museum in the blue and white markings applied in Vietnam. This photo is copyright © Geoff Goodall, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
