When with VA-76 (as NP-685) it shot down a MiG-17 on 20 May 1967. It was then wrecked on 23 June 1972 in a mid-air collision with A-7 158007 off St. Augustine, FL. Because of this an A-4 was painted up to represent this historic aircraft in the air show circuit. This is 142112 which carries the fake serial 148609 and FAA regn N49WH.
