Flypast at the Parafield airshow. I believe it may have been in Darwin at the time and the USAF conducted a training exercise non-stop Darwin-Adelaide-Darwin - I'll stand corrected on the Darwin statement. This wasn't the only time the USAF conducted such flights from the north to southern states events. On Nov 5, 1989 they flew Guam-Adelaide-Guam for a flypast over the F1 Grand Prix and Avalon was treated to a flypast in 2007. There are probably more.
