The Mü-10 Milan dates from 1934 and was the first German two-seater high-performance glider and only the second to have a tubular steel/fabric fuselage. In May 1935 the Mü-10 made the first-ever crossing of the Alps by glider, a flight that also set new records for altitude and distance, and was the first aircraft in Bavaria to be certified as a glider after WWII. It is now on display at the Deutsches Museum - Flugwerft Schleissheim. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
