Developed from the LWD Junak-1, the Zuch-1 was designed in 1948 as a trainer and aerobatic aircraft. The first prototype flew on September 1. However it did not enter serial production, as Poland was denied a license to produce the originally Czech-built engine. The aircraft was operated by various flying clubs until the end of 1955.
