On September 19, 2016 the scheduled service to Copenhagen started, enabling passengers a transfer to any Star Alliance flight. A hub connection like this had been on the top of the wishlist for a long time and it became reality for a while. Initially operated by a leased BMI E145, but from October 2016 onwards it was scheduled to be a Nordica CRJ-700. This aircraft flew in from Amsterdam with their CEO, for a brief stop at Eelde for the official announcement.
