Arguably the RAF's most famous squadron - 617 "Dambusters" Squadron - that year celebrated its 70th Anniversary. The squadron was formed in 1943 for the specific task of attacking three major German dams located on the Ruhr, namely the Möhne, Eder and Sorpe. 617 "Dambusters" Squadron was currently based at RAF Lossiemouth in Moray.
