Homemade airplane DOWA 81. With this aircraft in 1981,a family of five from the former East Germany proposed to escape. The plane did not fly because the family was arrested the day before the scheduled takeoff. She was sentenced to considerable prison terms for "preparing to cross the border illegally in severe cases". The family was deported to the Federal Republic after one year in prison. Due to the necessary confidentiality, only generally available materials were used for the construction.
