The DFS Olympia Meise had been designed in Germany for the 1940 Olympics but after the War new drawings were made by Chilton Aircraft Company in the UK using the aerodynamic shape but a new design. Production rights were sold to Elliots of Newbury and the type first flew in 1947. Only 150 were built.
