Armed with a rocketpod, this A-27A Tucano was on alert at Luis del Valle Garcia AB (Barcelona). The Tucano belonged to Escuadrón 142 "Básico"/ Escuadrón 143 "Tactico" as part of the Grupo de Entrenamiento Aéreo 14 "Escorpiones" at Barcelona. The unit moved later on to its current location Boca del Rio when Barcelona became the main operating base for the Fuerza Aerea Venezuela / Aviación Militar Nacional Bolivariana with Sukhoi Su-30MK2V Flankers.
