The prototype Shackleton MR.3 performing at the 1955 Farnborough air show wearing the then current dark sea grey scheme. It had first flown eight days earlier and was lost at Foolow Derbyshire during a test flight on 7 December 1956 with the loss of Squadron Leader Jack Wales and his crew.
