On November 9th 1918, two days before the Armistice of WWI this aircraft, piloted by Heinz von Beaulieu-Marconnay landed at an Allied airfield near Verdun in France. The aircraft was subsequently shipped to the USA where it was restored in the early 1970s. The code U-10 relates to the Regiment with which the pilot had served prior to joining the Air Force, The Tenth Uhlans. The aircraft is seen here displayed in the Smithsonian collection.
