Designed as a transport and 168-passenger airliner for the US Navy and Pan Am, the double-decker Constitution did not progress beyond two prototypes. In 1949, the second aircraft made a recruiting tour of 19 cities, carrying 'Your Navy - Air and Sea' titles. Over half a million people reportedly queued to get inside.
