The second prototype Viscount was allotted G-AHRG but first flew on March 15, 1950 with serial VX217. It was mainly used to test the Tay jet engine, two being fitted, but latterly used by Boulton Paul. Damaged beyond repair by fire in a wheel well during 1958 and scrapped at Seighford in 1960. Scanned from a stipple surfaced print. This photo is copyright © R.A.Scholefield, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
