This NF-5A was severly damaged during landing at its home base Eindhoven on 4 February 1985 when it hit approach lights, causing the nosewheel gear to collapse and subsequently landed on its nose and ended up in the grass. The aircraft was then scrapped. It is seen here backtracking the runway at Gilze-Rijen to the very edge of the runway, so as to be able to use the entire length of the runway on take off with its long range fuel tanks. It came within spitting distance of the spotters! This photo is copyright © Jonathan Verschuuren, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
