Ex VH-TOK, VH-REM took up its new identity in September 1968. At a time when registration changes were barred, an exemption was made for -REM. It had been bought by Robin Elizabeth Miller, a nurse known as the Sugarbird Lady. She flew the Outback administering the Sabin polio vaccine to children in remote communities. The vaccine was in sugar lumps. Miller was only 35 when she died of cancer in 1975. There is a memorial to her at Jandakot airport using the prototype Mooney M20H which was donated by Mooney. It is painted as VH-REM. The real -REM was current in 2017. This photo is copyright © David Carter, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
