VH-RGU vanished on a flight from Weipa to Aurukun on April 2, 1975. While the wreckage was not found, the body of the pilot, who was the only person on board, was found on a tidal flat 5km from Aurukun. -RGU was named after the Rev. Bill MacKenzie, who ran the Aurukun mission from 1924 to 1965. This photo is copyright © David Carter, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
