The Quickie Aircraft Corporation Quickie Q1 was designed by Tom Jewett, Burt Rutan and Gene Sheehan and the prototype N77Q first flew in November 1977. It was originally powered by a 18 HP Onan engine which was normally used to power lawnmowers! This was sufficient as it only weighed 111 kg plus the pilot and fuel. About 1,000 kits were sold but a lot of kit aircraft never get finished. This one had a 25 HP Onan engine and was donated to the museum in 1995.
