The Control Tower at Ford Island was under construction when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour on 7th December, 1941. The tower was bombed during the attack and did suffer some damage, but was completed and in use 5 months later. In 2011 the Pacific Aviation Museum restored the tower to it's original condition.
