SOSTAR-X was a program for the development and testing of an advanced airborne ground surveillance radar system, A joint effort of 5 nations, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands. In 2006 and 2007 air tests and demonstrations were conducted using the original Prototype of the Fokker 100. The airplane was about 20 years old at the time.
