Built as a Cessna 175C and registered VH-RDT. After a crash in 1962, it was rebuilt as a 172C and registered VH-SEA. At the time the c/n was officially 57057 and this was retained after conversion. At some time later authorities added "172" to the c/ns of the remaining Australian 172Cs. VH-SEA was caught up in this and became 17257057. It should have become 17557057 and that is what is used here.
