The modest passenger terminal, where operations had ended by January 1, 2008. The airport would eventually reopen in May 2016, at a very limited scale. Notice spelling: while the military base was called "Vliegbasis Twenthe", the civil airport has been named after the contemporary spelling of the region's name, Twente without an 'h'.
