VH-TMK was assembled from sundry components at Maitland, New South Wales and registered in August 1980. The msn was given as T250. T series numbers were allocated to airframes rebuilt by de Havilland Australia in World War II. However T250 was a rebuild of msn 83250 (VH-CXV). A possibility is the plate stamped T250 was among the components used in the rebuild of -TMK while VH-CXV still has the original plate with the serial 83250. This is the serial used in the register. VH-TMK's wing failed near Wellard Western Australia, on February 28, 1998. This photo is copyright © David Tanner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
