Cargolux operated 4 different Boeing 747 with the registration LX-DCV. This was the second airframe they used this registration on, but the oldest airframe. For several years it had a joined operation with Atlas Air. The airplane formally transferred to the American carrier in 1994, but remained on the Luxembourg register. Later a small Atlas logo was fitted to the gap in the cheatline, and an American registration, N809MC.
